ACM - Asbestos Containing Materials Report Analysis@endsection
Before any renovation, alteration, or demolition project begins, NYC DEP regulations require that building materials likely to contain asbestos be identified and tested. ECC's certified asbestos investigators conduct comprehensive ACM (Asbestos Containing Materials) surveys, physically sampling suspect materials - flooring, insulation, plaster, roofing, and more - and submitting them to an accredited laboratory for analysis.
Our survey reports document the location, condition, and quantity of every sampled material, along with laboratory results confirming whether asbestos is present and at what percentage. This documentation is a prerequisite for DOB permit applications on most alteration and demolition jobs, and protects owners, contractors, and occupants from unplanned exposure during construction.
When ACM is identified, ECC works with ownership and their abatement contractor to scope the required remediation, prepare the necessary DEP notifications (including ACP-5 and ACP-7 filings where applicable), and coordinate the testing and close-out documentation needed to clear the space for continued work.
